Zathyus Networks Resources

Site in question.

Note: I have been a member of this forum for about three years. On and off.

Zathyus Networks Resources is a resource board. This is where I usually find my themes/skins and I usually request the other needed graphics at the same site. And I go to this place just to do that. Why? Well, the Skin Zone/Theme Zone/whatever doesn’t feel the same community-wise.

Zathyus Networks Resources have underwent countless skin and theme changes in the past years. They’ve all been professional-looking and decent, at least to my memory. It has a variety of very original contests, the most recent being the Apprentice, a set of tasks battling each other out in two teams. Applications have been sent and approved, and I guess the best gets into the games. Resource forums is a long-used genre of forums, most of them having a resource database for themes and skins and a graphic database, also attached to that graphic requests and skin requests (a few resource forums has skin requests too). They have a Theme of the Month kind of thing; members vote on a theme they like in the database and the one with the most votes get their theme up on the selector for a month.

So, they got the originality going on and the professional look that’s fitting for a board. What makes this resource forum so horrible? One thing: The community doesn’t feel the same as before. Staff members (who are extremely excellent at skins/themes) no longer make new themes once a week. The members don’t participate on the community topics that much, except on Forum Games, which isn’t really community. And the list goes on and on.

Here’s a protip: Content also includes your community, not the other stuff. For this reason, Zathyus Networks Resources gets a 4/10.

The Roleplaying Zone

http://www.theroleplayzone.com/

The Roleplaying Zone forum is about general roleplaying. No, there’s no plot centered on the forum like a bit of other roleplaying forums, not like there’s anything bad about that.

Now, to first impressions. When I first started on this forum, it started with a black and green techy-looking skin. Then a new theme arrived, its main color scheme being a strange blue color and very techy, but not in a way that its old skin had. It has been more than 6 months after the old skin has been applied. While this is good, it seems a little too early to change skins. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again; change skins when you feel that the new skin feels old. The administrator probably felt that when she changed the old skin, though.

The forum has been running for about two years. It is fairly active, but not really that active for a two-year-old forum. I suggest advertising it at several forums and using the word of mouth method, as well as exchanges, if necessary. Also, new contests are encouraged.

The forum is strong in community for those who are actually active. While the active members are just really posting in the forum games area, the chatbox is used to strengthen and liven up its community. Unfortunately, the strong community isn’t obvious in the actual discussions.

Now, the forum has a little incentive; a little point store. You could use your points to buy (at the store) a new emote for the board, your own blog, a rank or a colored username. The new emote thing promotes community. The blog also promotes community, but clutters up the forum. The other incentives both promote community. While these little things are nice, it doesn’t bring anything new to the board. Bring something new.

Overall, a good forum that needs a little more to strive it up.

Battlefield Heroes

Cartoony graphics doesn't mean it's for kids! Meet Battlefield Heroes, a shooting game with cartoony graphics, though it's definitely not for children.

Shoot, shoot, shoot! It's still the regular old, regular old 'avoid headshots.' It has 3 classes, Soldier, Gunner, Commando. You also get to choose sides, but there isn't really a difference except it automatically chooses your team after you've chosen that side. Soldiers are all-rounders, Gunners are basically tanks and the Commando specializes in stabbing, but also can snipe. Gunners remind me of the Heavy Weapons Guy (Team Fortress 2) and the Commando reminds me of the Spy/Sniper (Team Fortress 2).

The graphics are kiddy, but there are quite a few vehicles for you to use. There's the car, moreoften used for transportation than for attacking, though there's two other spots for people. There is the tank, deadly, but slow, but you can hop on for a quick shooting. There's the airplane, shooting people from the skies. There's two other spots for those looking for a nice view or even more shooting. There's the turret, immobile but powerful. This is a nice array of weapons, however, it is easily dealt with the tank. And you can only defeat a tank with a tank, or if the user of the tank is stupid enough to jump into dynamite/grenades, you can do that, but not
all people are stupid, so the only weapon is tank vs. tank.

You may, at first, hate the kiddy graphics, but you might get used to it. However, there isn't much of a choice for equipment. For permanent stuff for the actually buyable ones with no real life money, you have to buy with real life money. Don't download this game if you are looking for fashion in your shooting. You have to buy to get the permanent stuff, if you want permanent grenades in your inventory all the time, or be rich and keep on buying everytime it expires. But even the experts need a break from gaming and when they come back, they'll see a lot of their equipment have expired.

Never seen vehicles in shooting games, much less a kiddy game. Good game. Don't expect a wide variety of items to buy, especially if you're not looking to buy items.

Wolf Team

Ever wanted to headshot a wolf or steal bases as a wolf? In Wolf Team, you can. However, after a bit of playing, you realize that it's still a lot like your usual first-person-shooting game. You try to avoid headshots, yet there's a lot of the time when you have to stay in your spawn point. Wolves are far too overpowered with different powers, e.g. freezing, thunder, etc. which probably takes a lot of grinding to get. Guns, on the other hand, don't have any powers except shoot, shoot, shoot. Some wolves (especially the tank, the Guardian Wolf. 380 HP) has a lot of HP and it's just shooting. Wolves are really good in close-range combat, or at least this game says, which just forces you to just shoot if you're in a Human vs. Wolf or even a Human/Wolf vs. Human/Wolf battle. Plus, wolves can jump and move better than humans, or at least this game says. There's a Wolf vs. Wolf battle, but that can get especially chaotic.

On the other hand, I haven't seen/heard of 'you can control wolves' in a shooting game yet. Decent graphics, a bit fun game.

6/10.

Minecraft

Minecraft. A game where you mine, then craft.

Obviously.

This game is still on the beta testing stage but millions of players have played it. What makes Minecraft so... addicting? It has no story at all and you just mine and craft things. The main focus of it is building while surviving. So why is Minecraft played by millions of users?

The graphics are blocky. In comparison to high-graphics games like Devil May Cry 4 (or the majority of Xbox360 games), it blows. But really, what's a building game without blocks? If its blocky graphics was changed to the graphics of a Xbox360 game, it wouldn't feel the same. It would probably feel like an over-exaggerated building game with elements of survival.

And then, the gameplay. It's extremely simple and straightforward with controls similar to a FPS's (a, s, d, w to move, space to jump, mouse click to interact) but it's different; you'll find yourself building and crafting all sorts of things. Perfect for the creative gamer with its redstone (it's kinda like electricity) and various other knick-knacks that pleases gamers looking for something creative to build with.

This is an awesome, addicting game that pleases the creative soul. 8/10.

Age of Empires 2

Pros: -Historically accurate campaigns (If you get the full game)
-Easy + beginner friendly interface
-Addicting + tons of replay value
-Lots of other races + their own technology tree (If you get the full game)

Cons: -Graphics are less than average
-Gameplay feels very outdated, at least compared to newer RTSes
-Too little stuff to do in the demo
Summary: This was the reason why I love the Middle Ages. Age of Empires II was one of the few games, from my childhood, that managed to survive the test of time. Today, I download the demo and... I still love it. What does Age of Empires have that other RTSes don't? Well, it's nothing much due to my child self's low standards.

One of the pros listed is that you learn while you play the campaigns, at least, if you get the full version. Let's see, Joan of Arc, Barbarossa, Saladin, and more. Quite a package of learning and fun. Another is that, when I started to play this, it was easy to get though all of everything. And it's very addicting. You probably couldn't see why due to its "click to do everything" nature. And there are a lot of other races with their own technology tree, (You know, own set of available and unavailable technology) as well as their special unit when you build a Castle.

Every addicting thing has its cons, and Age of Empires II is no exception. The graphics are outdated, and thus, the graphics are less than average. And the gameplay... to, say, Starcraft II players, it seems a little too outdated. And this demo doesn't contain all of the good stuff (more campaigns, more game modes, etc.) has to offer.

Overall, a pretty good, but outdated, RTS.

Lunia Online

http://download.mmosite.com/html/1/2348/

Pros: 1. Interesting storyline that keeps you going.
2. Nice graphics with effects.
3. Excellent music combined with awesome sound.
4. Decent PvP mode.
5. Lots of things to do.
6. Easy to play.

Cons: 1. Loading times can be long.
2. Hard to find party members sometimes.

Summary: I'll have to say, I'm impressed! It has an interesting storyline, nice graphics with beautiful effects, and excellent music combined with awesome sound. It has a decent PvP mode with lots of things to do. It's also easy to play. No, you don't have to use your mouse quite as often. However, loading times can be quite long, and it's sometimes hard to find party members in general. There's even more than just the characters you currently have to your possession, you can get more characters for more fun.

Amazing game. I recommend it to anybody who likes a classic. 5/5 for me.

Rumble Fighter

http://rf.ogplanet.com/downloads/game.asp

Pros: 1. Really cute graphics.
2. Smooth gameplay.
3. Fair button mechanics.
4. Practice stage.
5. Cooperative mode. (FINALLY)
6. Unique 'Exo Core' system.

Cons: 1. Everyone pretty much wears the same thing.
2. Everyone has pretty much the same attacks, too.
3. Complete grind with absolutely no depth. When your level up, you only hit harder.

Summary: I have to say, I regretted getting addicted to this game. But, it has really cute graphics, which is either a con or a pro depending on your tastes. I like cute graphics, so it's a pro. On top of that, there's smooth gameplay, but in my whole life playing this game, I haven't seen any hackers. It has fair button mechanics, but that means you guard, anyone can throw you off the edge easily, like in Glaciers Cove and Moonlight Valley. It has a practice stage, and finally, a cooperative mode that took forever to make the original creators of Rumble Fighter be like 'Oh, a cooperative mode, that's a great idea! Let's code now!' There's also the Exo-Core system. You can use other abilities rather than your fists or kicks, but Exo-Cores bought with Astros (game money bought with real money) are better than Exo-Cores bought with Carats (game money awarded in-game). People actually buy Astros, yes.

However, everyone pretty much wears the same thing. Even if you level up often, , there's almost no, if so, a few, awards if you level up. Most equipment in general have no stats. Everyone has pretty much the same attacks, too. Try guarding, they'll throw you into a pit of death, especially in areas like Moonlight Valley and Glaciers Cove, as stated before. Even if you do win, there's a complete grind with absolutely no depth. As stated before, you only hit harder when you level up. No fancy prizes, nothing. Level 20, you can get a Nanmu, where you can be an animal, but that only allows for more special attacks, not stronger attacks.

I have to say, this game is decent, even if they now have the cooperative mode. It just barely passed my expectations. 3/5.

Lost Saga

http://lostsaga.ogplanet.com/en/download/client.og

Pros: 1. Cute graphics. Fitting for this game.
2. Lots of things going on, no matter what mode you play.
3. Worth spending the upgrades.
4. Heroes (or characters) have some pros and cons of their own, each and every one of them.
5. Practice stage.

Cons: 1. You cannot buy skills, at least from my point of view.
2. Some must-gets (e.g. Cyber Medic) need to have a certain requirement.
3. When you are upgrading in-game, you are free to get hit.
4. No set goal no matter what level you are.
Summary: I have to say, this is one of OGPlanet's best games they've provided. Unfortunately, the Open Beta is closed, as of November 13th, 2009.

It has really cute graphics, which is absolutely perfect for this game. It also has unique gameplay, when your opponent's HP turns zero, you can hit them four times before they really die. Each of the four times you've hit them, they take off one of their clothing, the Cape, Armor, Weapon, or Helmet. Don't worry, there's no complete nudity in this game. Once you get one of the items, the equipment you currently have will drop off and you'll equip it, or you'll equip it right away if you have the slot empty. Amazing.

There are a LOT of things going on, from a Tao Warrior doing Wild Dance, to a newbie busily picking up Tao Warrior equipment, hearing that how Tao Warriors are the 'most awesome Hero ever.' Even on the other seemly 'you have to do nothing' modes. It's also good since it's actually worth spending the upgrades. I said 'upgrades' not items from the item shop.

All Heroes have pros and cons of their own. Some, like the Infantryman, is newbie-friendly, compared to the Cowboy, which is not. All Heroes used in battle also share experience points.

There is also a practice stage, where everyone can join in with a click of their mouse.

However, you cannot buy skills, equipment, etc. with just game money. Even if you can buy it, there's still stuff that yell 'Must-Get!!!!' like the Cyber Medic. Those types of stuff need to meet a certain requirement.

And even worse, when you are trying to upgrade in-game, in the heat of battle, you are free to get hit. You can't tell everyone 'I'm upgrading!' because that would attract people from the other team trying to kill you.

There's also no set goal no matter what level or Hero you are. It's only 'Level Up!' and you thinking 'Oh, I need to upgrade my Hero(es)/I need to buy something from the item shop' kind of thing. There are some awards when you level up, but it can expire easily.

I recommend this game to anyone to likes fighting games, still, though. Sure, it has flaws, but it's still fun! 4/5

Akatsuki Blitzkampf

YAY. A game where none of you know about! This here is pretty much your typical fighting game, but let's go in-depth about that.

I seriously don't know what's the story on this on Arcade mode. The person who translated my download translated the basic gameplay stuffs, but not the storyline of it.

I've definitely seen the graphics before. The graphics are something... not special.

Again, the gameplay is nothing special either. It's rather typical for a fighting game... let's see, we've got punches, kicks, grabs, techniques... and counterattacks. While this seems new to the majority, it isn't really anything new. Some of the Street Fighter games provide a counterattack system, much like Akatsuki Blitzkampf's counterattack. Or rather, Akatsuki Blitzkampf's counterattack system is much like Street Fighter's, since Street Fighter came first.

Then, the game modes. You've got your usual mixed bag; one-player Arcade with a plot, one-versus-one duel without any plot, two-versus-two Arcade with a plot, two-versus-two duel, time attack (how long can you survive within the time limit, time extensions given on how well you did on completing a stage) and survival (how long can you survive within your life bar, heals given on how well you did on completing a stage). These are all the typical game modes given on... say, a Street Fighter game. But a game mode comes out of your usual stuff; Sugoroku. The mode plays like a board game, but with cards. You know, you have a die, you roll it, and you land somewhere. There are different types of stages in sugoroku; the special stage, the 1v3 stage, the regular 1v1 stage… with cards to help you out. The cards increases your stats depending on the card, and you can also have a character play with you using that card. The said cards can be only be used once a stage, though, so use it carefully! Sugoroku is definitely something special, nothing that you saw before in a fighting game.

This is your average fighting game. Go download it for sugoroku, though. Oh, and the tank. Yes, you can play as a tank here. 6/10 overall.

Afuganisu-tan

http://www.mangafox.com/manga/afghanistan/

Alright, everyone! Let's gather for an important part of world history; the history of Afghanistan as we review Timaking's only known manga, Afuganisu-tan!

Story:
Again, as said before, this tells a bit of history about Afghanistan. The story is slow-paced and episodic, but does its job decently. However, Timaking feels that it is necessary to add text alongside the panels. I don't actually feel that this is a good way to tell the story.

Art:
Adorable, adorable with moe written all over it. It's average, though, but does its job well.

Character:
The story is told with Afuganisu-tan's eyes. There is your naive youngster named Afuganisu-tan, a boastful one named Pakis-tan, and other excellent characters. The characters feel undeveloped after completion, but this is no surprise since this is a one-shot.

Overall, pretty enjoyable manga. It's a nice, quick read providing adorable art. 6/10.

Mirai Nikki

http://www.mangafox.com/manga/mirai_nikki/

Welcome to the cruel game of survival. If you hold a Future Diary, you're a possible target for the game to get the rank of God. And everyone else has some type of Future Diary too.

This is the plot where Mirai Nikki revolves in. But the manga explains how the game is started. How? Yukiteru, the main character, is pretty much an outcast. Left without friends, Yukiteru begins to create imaginary friends like Deus Ex Machina, the 'Lord of Time and Space.' However, creating this 'Lord' comes with a price; creating 11 Future Diary holders.

This is definitely something unique. Never really seen something like it before. The pacing can get a little too fast though.

And now, the characters. Yuno is your typical overprotective person, protecting Yukiteru and becoming obsessed with him. But there's a twist... she's a yandere, someone who'll even kill someone else to 'protect' his/her lover. Definitely something good coming your way. But then, comes your typical backboneless character, Yukiteru himself. But he develops well. And the other ten Diary Holders, too. You'll be turning the pages crazily, learning about each and every Diary Holder and their personalities.

Can't say anything much about the art, though. Pretty average and serves its purpose well.

Overall, I've enjoyed this manga very much. Brutal scenes line the pages of this manga, and don't expect a touching and cute romance. You're in for a ride. 6/10.

Dynasty Warriors Online

http://dynastywarriors.aeriagames.com/download

The current story as of five months of this post was... you're from *insert region here* in China, back in time. War is raging on, and it has reached a stalemate. (aka, there's no clear winner) I say this isn't an original story at all, but it certainly explains why your character is fighting, representing your region. That's good... and bad at the same time.

The graphics are excellent. So excellent, that I had to adjust some of the graphic settings to make it run smoothly. (My computer sucks, so...) It's very detailed.

I don't usually review the sound in this, but this game is an exception. Why? You're able to choose your character's personality. That personality chooses how your character will sound like. Definitely something I've never seen in games.

And the gameplay... I'm really neutral about this. It works as your typical hack-and-slash, but these little potions, upgrades. They upgrade your abilities, but it's different for each and every weapon. Defeat enemies, get potions, and upgrade.

I think I'm a little too early to judge the battle modes, but there's way too many bases fight. You know, claim all bases before the time limit. (If you don't do that, there's still a chance; fight and kill those armies!) Yes, I'm doing quests, but they are tough and sometimes I think these battles take a little too long, but I suppose games are supposed to take a huge amount of time. I suppose.

Pretty good. 8/10 from me.

Dragonfable

http://dragonfable.com/

I've gotten to level 8 and I've just reached Falconreach (basically, the main town), but I think I've gotten a good taste of it.

Now, the story. It's about a certain hero, born. That hero gets 'called' to save the Priestess and goes on quests to save her. Typical, overused story. But then again, Dragonfable isn't all that. It seems to parody the overused fantasy story with its puns, and of course, its atmosphere is always playful. "HERPADERPPUNS." In a good way, of course. Without its puns, Dragonfable (and most likely all of the other games the creators developed) would not be the same.

The graphics are extremely average. It's really nothing eye-catching, but it's not really downright horrible. Same for the animation, but I'm glad that they improved on the battle animations. Though I think it needs the 'different animations' thing again.

Again, the gameplay itself is pretty average. It's your usual point-and-click game; click where you want to go, click to attack, click to use a skill, click to use a potion, click to equip something... yup, I'm not seeing any keyboard action here. There's pretty much Player versus Monster/Environment and Player versus Player. PvE and PvP are pretty much the same compared to each other, except in PvE you have to take quests to get to the monsters. Or, if it's unclear, PvP is basically all in the battle system and no getting to the players.

Overall, 4/10. Its humor and atmosphere is worth taking a look here, though.

Dragon Cave

http://dragcave.net/

First of all, its strange addictiveness wins the hearts of ten thousands of users. Simply just getting four eggs and raising them happens to be addicting, of course, or maybe concentrating on your goals and getting that particular species is quite addicting. Either way, pretty awesome.

The fact that the administrator actually interacts with the users made me proud. I'm not even talking about bans, suspensions. No, nowhere near that. We're talking actual, real posts. He posts important stuff for newbies to read and actually discusses suggestions. (I can imagine him reading the most replied ones) He even pops a not serious post every once in a while. Little do you see administrators talking about ANYTHING. Lesser so 'joke posts.'

On the topic of administrators, something that's making me proud is update posts at least every month. Releases, issues, new staff, pretty much anything new is updated in the news area of the forums. However, recording progress on what's new isn't usually posted. Ruins the excitement of it!

Now, the gameplay. While it doesn't have a storyline, PERIOD, as I said before, it's strangely addicting. Grab four eggs, raise it until it becomes a hatchling, (child) and then raise it until it becomes an adult. It might be due to the fact that you, the user, needs help from other users to get other types of dragons, whether it be from Dragon Cave Wiki, a small question, or 'AP trading.' Either way, pretty awesome.

Now, the little extras. There's creative writing and Breed-Specific Actions. You can put a description of your dragon, but getting descriptions actually approved takes a long process. It's not because there's only one admin, it's because moderators have lives too. (Moderators in the forums all have the ability to approve or deny descriptions. They get the final say) Breed-Specific Actions are these little things that help your scroll in some way. Earthquake is a useful but risky BSA that gets your dragons to hatch extremely quickly. Incubate decreases the days by 24 hours. Bite has a chance of getting a dragon to turn into a vampire. Fertility, soon to come, increases the chance of whatever dragon you choose breeding successfully. Teleport, also soon to come, is actual 2-way trading or 1-way transferring. ('Trading' used to be passing eggs through the abandoned page)

Overall, definitely, definitely addicting and extremely enjoyable. I've played this for three years (on and off). Sparkly 10/10 for me.

Makkine's Game

http://s3.amazonaws.com/apphost/MGB.html#user=wingedfire;project=project1;map=level%20story%201;viewmode=embed

Something similar to Joogle Brothers, Makkine's untitled game she made about a year ago then forgotten about it. Well, anyway... this was a strange game. Not in its gameplay or anything like that, but its humor...

First off, the graphics aren't really good. Honestly, I think the graphics are the game's weakest point.

Then, the storyline. You were once a human, but you were changed to something else and you have to fulfill a prophecy. Get to the end of it to find out what the prophecy is. I've definitely seen/heard of this before. Nothing really special here, honestly.

And then comes the gameplay itself. Now, it's a pretty normal platformer, what with shooting enemies and walking around. The enemies are a zombie-like thing that just wanders around and this one red-shirted enemy that follows you around like some creepy thing. It needs more variety on the game, though. There are weapons, a wand and a stick, but the thing that really does something is the wand. Wands clear up space for the player. Sticks seriously don't do anything... it says you can attack with the stick, but if you press enter at the start without the stick, you'll be able to guard yourselves against enemies. What's the point in that?

Though the thing that really sticks into me is the humor. It isn't actually funny, it's just it has this particular strangeness that I love.

Overall, 6/10. Don't expect anything special here, though it entertained me greatly.

Virtual Villagers 2

http://www.freeworldgroup.com/games6/gameindex/virtual-villagers-2-online.htm

This is a definite classic. I played this when I was younger, but got bored of it because I didn't like waiting for things to be accomplished. Years later, I still don't like that, but it's still a classic.

The story is basically this: A couple of villagers pretty much know every nook and cranny of their island except for a little cave. They went in there, however, they fell and landed in the island the game is in, called Isola. A couple of children are in there and the majority of them cannot work, except for one. The villagers decide to help them survive and perhaps make the island strive. Sounds a bit like Harvest Moon, what with the previous sentence and due to the fact they're new to the newly found island. Nothing really special, but it works.

Well, the graphics is pretty much pixel-looking. It's really bad, but if it changed, it wouldn't be Virtual Villagers anymore.

The gameplay itself... it's VERY addicting. You help the villagers survive, research, collect items/mushrooms, build things, and more. Heck, even random events happen that can spell doom for a villager or increase skills or something good or bad. Things can still happen after you're not playing the game, so it makes you worry. 'What's happening to my village right now?' Oh, gosh, gameplay is DEFINITELY Virtual Villagers' strongest point.

Overall, pretty fun, nothing new in the storyline, but heck, don't expect anything deep in this game. Just plain old, plain old, Virtual Villager fun. 8/10 for me.

Joogle Brothers

http://gmc.yoyogames.com/index.php?showtopic=163876

Yes! My first request! Unfortunately, it’s something I’m not very good at… puzzle games. I prefer fighting games or shooting games, but it’s fine, especially since it’s from a Let’s Player/translator that I love, vgperson.

Now, Joogle Brothers is about two teardrop-shaped brothers, now destined to grab the four keys. Two of the four Keys are the Fire Key, used as an offense against enemies, and the Air Key, used to get places that Pilid (one of the brothers) couldn’t normally go. Finally, important artifacts are useful in a game! Yes, all of the keys do something good in the game.

The gameplay itself is pretty normal for a platformer, but you can character switch with these teleporter-like objects. The characters you can switch to are Pilid, used to jump over places Joogle can’t reach but has lower HP than Joogle, and Joogle, is very average but has more HP than Pilid. I still see this in many platformers though, so it’s not really original.

The music is from several different video games. However, they all fit with their stages. Wouldn’t say they’re catchy though.

There are different types of enemies, Blagons, (which move and doesn’t do much) spikes, (which doesn’t move but does more damage than a Blagon would do), Gunners, (moves a lot, hard to dodge bullets, but doesn’t do much damage, especially with Joogle) Flagons, (who is like a Blagon but immune to the Fire Key) Living Suns, (who are like Gunners, but explode into 8 bullets… which does the same damage as a Gunner bullet) and so many more. I fricking love the variety of enemies in this game.

However, bugs fill the game. Something like if you get a health upgrade while in spikes, you get repeatedly damaged even if the textbox is still up or randomly freezing.

There is a shop system in the game, just the majority of the items are suckish. Speed Shoes make you run faster, Super Wings can let you skip large portions of the game and the Fake Vision can let you figure out some puzzles… Great, but all of the items should have some use.

The level design itself is well-done and good.

However, the storyline is really clichéd.

Overall, pretty fun but has a lot of bugs and it’s rather clichéd. 6/10 from me.

Zone 4

http://zone4.ogplanet.com/en/download/client.og

So, Zone 4 is the newest addition to OGPlanet's fighting game library, going along with two decent games called Lost Saga and Rumble Fighter. This is, without a doubt, my favorite of the fighting games. Why? I'm going to tell you right now.

First off, the graphics look really really nice. Lost Saga's cartoony graphics and Rumble Fighter's really kiddy graphics has no chance with Zone 4's really... 'lifelike' graphics.

Then, the gameplay itself. It has several types of game modes, an arcade mode where you can fight Player(s) vs. environment, but there are stages, unlike in the hunting ground mode, where it's Player(s) vs. environment, but it is more role-playing game-esque. Then comes the PvP modes, the classical deathmatch mode, selectable with team or single. I prefer team mode, but single is crazy. You could also fight other enemies with your team. And then comes the items. There are different types of items, too. Some items poison your enemies, hitting them, some items decrease your opponent's SP, also hitting them. Some even deter your opponents, freezing them with ice at the time or just overall hitting them with bombs or explosives.

Then comes the different types of fighting styles. Unlike that of Rumble Fighter which allows you to buy scrolls to make your style different, Zone 4 uses more of a promotion class; two types of 'classes,' Hold and Street. Hold has different types of grab, street has different types of hitting. I am afraid of trying Hold since I suck at those types, but I've tried two of the Street styles, Muay Thai and Taekwondo, both feels very different from each other. And the promotion person predicts that there will be more types of them too; perhaps more promotions from Muay Thai and Taekwondo?

Overall, pretty different from Lost Saga and Rumble Fighter. 10/10 from me.
